Britona

The tiny village of Britona is close to Goa’s capital city of Panjim. Britona is well-known for the wonderful church of Our Lady of the Rock of France (Nossa Senhora de Penha de Franca) one of the earliest churches in the state situated southwest of the main road from Pomurpa.

Britona is a typical fishing village and still has the charm of traditional Goa; there are many old houses from the Portuguese era situated there. It is also a very pleasant place to take a quiet stroll as there are many shady palm trees.
