Agonda Beach
Situated just along from Palolem on the main Panaji road, Agonda Beach is a lovely but lonely three-kilometre long beach, fringed with palm trees and with the skyline dominated by a large hill to the south.
It isn’t busy as not many tourists visit the area; what accommodation there is can be sparse – just a few beach huts – and there are no restaurants or souvenir stalls.
Surrounded by forest Agonda village is sleepy and life here is at a much more sedate place than other, nearby villages. Villagers work in the emerald-green paddy fields or as fishermen who you can see the fisherman drying their catch.
One of the best ways of experiencing Agonda is by hiring a scooter or motor bike and a tent and by spending a night there listening to the crashing of the sea waves.
