Cavelossim is situated in south Goa a few miles south of the town of Varca lying between the Arabian Sea and the Sal River estuary.
Soft white sands and smooth black volcanic rocks make Cavelossim a picturesque stretch of quiet south Goa away from the trance parties and the hippy spiritualism of the north but despite this picture of serenity recent hotel and resort developments at Cavelossim have led to an increasing number of bars, restaurants and shops and while the area has certainly become busier in recent years it gives the appearance of being halfway between a quiet resort and one with a bit more life.
A number of beach shacks offer good value food and drink and some have been known to put on beach parties with bonfires, fireworks and entertainment.
Cavelossim Beach has a reputation of being one of the nicest in Goa with brilliant white sands and crystal clear seas.
Holidays in Cavelossim offer the complete Goan package – lazy sun-filled days interrupted by an hour or two browsing market stalls or taking a cold beer or hot curry from a beach shack, followed by a memorable sunset and relaxing evening at a restaurant overlooking the ceaseless pounding of the surf.
